It's Not You, It's Gaslighting
“Some people will label you as vindictive, unforgiving or even evil for not allowing them to hurt you, yet again.” - Wayne Gerard Trotman
In the past months, I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Speak Out Revolution, a not-for-profit based in the UK, whose mission is to end the culture of silence around bullying in the workplace. I reached out to the founders of Speak Out, Marie Hemmingway and Frances Holmes, because I was so taken with the work that they are doing and wanted to be a part of it.
Speak Out offers free events, talks, a podcast, a blog and "Ask Colleen" an opportunity for anyone dealing with toxicity in the workplace to personally reach out to leadership coach Colleen Chandler for advice. The wealth of information Speak Out provides and the opportunities for support and learning are SO amazing.
June 10th Speak Out is holding an online event "It's Not You, It's Gaslighting" featuring workshops by myself and Michelle: The Mindset Coach For anyone unfamiliar with the term gaslighting, it is a form of psychological abuse, where the attacker makes the victim question their memories, reality, or sanity:
"I do not know what you're talking about"
"You have a bad memory, that's not what happened"
"This is just another crazy idea you got from your friends"
"You're being too sensitive/overreacting"
Thinking a woman is irrational or crazy because she is a woman
If you, or someone you know, is interested in attending the event you can sign up here: It's Not You, It's Gaslighting I hope you see you there! - Jessica
